happy independence day!
this is a great day for celebrating, wouldn't you say?
"July 4, 1776: the day that we 'unfollowed' King George. #waytoointotwitter"
thank you, ConanO'Brian (follow him on twitter, i'm serious).
moving on to less grand things...
my new version of ice cream is really full-fat vanilla yog(h)urt covered in sliced up bananas and strawberries (organic, of course) and completely filled with granola ("back to nature" brand, 100% natural - whole grain rolled oats, evaporated cane juice, pineapple juice concentrate, pear juice concentrate, peach juice concentrate, and vitamin E to help preserve flavor - sounds good to me!).
it's pretty darn delicious.
i just ate a yumm bowl of it after getting back from cabin (see bettom of post).
time for some vitamins and cod liver oil.
and lots and lots of water.
cabin was bad to me.
i was bad to me at cabin.
oops.
let's backtrack to saturday first.
i was /forced/ out of my bed that morning at... 11am.
okay, so almost not morning.
we, the people of ysa 6th ward, hiked to stewart falls up in the canyon.
it was gorgeous and very warm.
my shoulders are quite burnt. still.
that makes bad burn #3 this summer. shoot.
the mist from the fall soaked completely soaked me, which is actually probably where i lost my sunscreen.
but mostly it just felt amazing.
then sunday happened, and keri and i took off up the canyon to stay at a cabin with some friends.
the drive was incredible.
it was so good to get out of provo for a little bit.
i seem to love getting out of provo whenever i can.
but who doesn't love going to a cabin for a night or ten?
i wish it was ten.
it wasn't.
new life plan: graduate, buy dog, buy cabin, live happily ever after.
ps. i was really great at not eating junk considering it was a
very spur-of-the-moment trip that we didn't do the shopping for.
but 2am broke me, and i had a fun-sized 100Grand bar.
and then two more after i brushed my teeth.
and two doctor pepper's today.
i was thirsty and hot.
and so guilty.
but that's why i am back to eating yogurt and granola. and cod liver oil.
you should get on the whole cod liver oil thing.
by the way, if you're wondering about the sugar thing, check out what Dr. Mercola has to say about it.
my mom turned me onto him a while back, and i'm determined to change. look here.
he has plenty to say about cod liver oil, too.
