these days
- still working on growing my hair out after last summer's impulsive chop. i part it in the middle now. it's edgy. and slightly 70s-esque.
- i'm reading mere christianity by c.s. lewis. lots of questions are bubbling up these days about life, religion, and all sorts of interesting things.
- i try to study a lot, but it doesn't happen a lot. i get completely distracted by silly things (i.e. photobooth, grey's anatomy, etc.). but still, somehow i study more than i ever have. which is sad. and impressive. to me.
- i've successfully gone two weeks without dessert. i made, and ate, a ton of whole-wheat pumpkin apple muffins (recipe below), but those were practically healthy. i even used less sugar than was called for. my goal is to go a whole month without those extreme sweets. it's insane.
- i crave hot chocolate just about every night now. especially because it's getting colder. and because I HAVEN'T HAD CHOCOLATE IN WEEKS.
- figuring out plans a, b, c, d, and e for my life. currently i'm obsessed with the idea of the seattle area for a chunk of time. i miss smelling the moist evergreens this time of year. i'd just have to factor in some good mid-winter vacation days to somewhere sunny so i don't get too depressed. which is actually perfect, because i plan on seeing what this world has to offer.
- i'm not baby hungry at all, not even when i see and/or hold a baby. too many friends are pregnant or having babies already, and they're just babies themselves! give me a few years before i get married, then give me a good few years more before babies. yikes. too much. too much. puppies, however, are a completely different story.
- grey's anatomy season 9 starts this week. and we'll be watching. at one in the morning. when it comes on hulu because we don't have tv. you're invited to come.
- costco is pretty much the funnest place to shop in the whole entire world. except maybe crate and barrel and william sonoma.
end.

I found you through a comment you made on Bridget Hunt's blog and I thought you were funny and checked out your blog. I really love it, so hi. I'm Lauren, and I'm a new follower and fan :) On a sidenote, "Mere Christianity" is really eye opening and insightful. And if you win that maple syrup giveaway you miiiiiiggghhtttt want to reintroduce sweets slowly before you crack it open. If I had made it a FLIPPIN MONTH without sweets and then got my hands on that I would be all about some drowned pancakes down the hatch. Sugar high much? But seriously, that is some intense willpower. Good luck!
