Home is where the heart is.

I've been busy doing a whole lot of student stuff. You know, the usual: going to class, studying, not studying, watching episode after episode of Grey's Anatomy, not going to bed on time, eating just as badly as before school started. Whatev. It's what I do. Dancing makes my Monday/Wednesday/Friday mornings great, which is kind of amazing considering how done I was with it a few months ago. Ah, but passion takes a while to die, apparently. So I'm dancing and dancing. And loving.

Fall is not coming on quickly enough, so sit around day dreaming about the Pacific Northwest at this time of year, which is my favorite. It kind of makes my heart ache a little. It gets colder, a little more colorful, and the rains come again and stay for months. Because, you know, after living in a desert for two whole years a girl really starts to miss that rain. It's still too warm during the days, but we dipped into the 40s already in the night time hours. The mountains are red, orange, green, and brown. But not enough of each. The Cascades and Olympics are really truly missed these days, too. But the second it starts snowing around here I'll be better. The one downside of the PNW: not much snow. But so it goes, and I still love it. And miss it. The only thing missing there is my life (unfortunately my life is here now).

One of these days, or somewhere in a few years, I'm taking my Chelsey and we're not going to tell anyone we're in town, and we're going to tour the area like a tourist does. But in secret. You know we love our families, but once you go home it's hard to get out of the house and drive up north a few hours, or south to the Oregon coast. It's a magical plan, and we both start drooling whenever we think about it.

Oh, you, Pacific Northwest. You beautiful Puget Sound. Seattle, you wonderful city. Gig Harbor, you postcard destination. I love you. I love you all.
