home! home! home!

I decided to go with a slightly different picture this time, you know, instead of the postcard shot from the other side of the harbor. Actually, this one is cool because there are all sorts of sailboat races in the harbor which Mom and Chris actually race in frequently. How cool is that? Chris has a gorrrrgeous 38' sailboat that's docked at the far end of the harbor, and boy do we love it.

So I'm home. Don't know if that was clear in the title or not. Mom and Chris are heading to the Great Down Under tomorrow to visit his side of the family. His two kids live with their families in Adelaide and Melbourne, along with his parents and brothers. Unfortunately I haven't made the trek out there (can you call it a trek if you're sitting in an airplane the whole time?). Soon though. Soon. But it's okay, because it means that for the next week and a half I'm playing "mom" at home. My castle! My rules! (I literally just spelled "rooles" without a second thought and had to go back to change that - whoa, I'm tired.) It's going to be me, the boys, and Hannah, until Ryan gets here on Sunday, then it'll just be one big party (missing Steph, of course!).

I'm already enjoying it, but all of the sudden I'm exhausted. My left knee is killing me from a 6mile run and then some P90X yoga this week, so Mom already stuffed some cod liver oil down my throat (I make fun, but I'm a believer along with the rest of the granolas). I washed it down with some cookies and raw milk (raw! whole! yum! Thanks, Hannah!), so I won't be burping fish oil all day. Lovely, I know. The point is, it's already been a sort of lovely day, even if it started at 4:30am and one last final before booking it to the airport. But I'm here! I'm here and I get to run a home for a couple weeks, and be with the half of my family that I never get to see!

Have I mentioned I like it here?

    1. I've tried and it helps, but I still get a little taste of fish every now and then.
