celebrating fall, parts one and two.
first of all, i never say "autumn". i just don't. and second, i don't give a rip about halloween. i know i should, but i just don't. i enjoy dressing up when it means that i'm going to the symphony or out to a nice restaurant, but knocking on doors and asking for candy hasn't been my thing since i was probably seven. also, i get scared easily so i prefer not watching scary movies or thinking about zombies. trust me, it's bad. i got dragged to a zombie apocalypse (apocalypse!) a couple weeks ago, and walking to dance in the dark has been a nightmare ever since. so i stick with celebrating the beauty of fall, with all the pumpkins and leaves, candles, and pies. october-december are the best months out of the year. best.
part one consisted of carving a pumpkin with my sweet new friend, malachi, during the commercials of the byu vs. notre dame game last week. it was a slow, slow day. i loved it. part two was hopping into the car the sunday after and driving up past sundance with keri. it was so beautiful, and drizzling which made us cold, but it smelled incredible. the highway up past sundance closes on halloween for the rest of the season because it's too dangerous with the snow. so if you're in town, go up while you still can! it makes the perfect sunday drive, and sunday drives are some of the best times.
and now it's the weekend, and a little bit snowy. did i mention my family came into town this week? it was so, so, so good to be with them for a couple of days.
