Back for a limited time only! (seriously, though.)

I just realized the other day that it's been almost an entire month since I posted, which is pretty darn sad. But look, I'm working 35+ hours a week for the first time in my life, AND it's while I'm trying to finish up a semester (grades? what are those?), AND AND AND I was sick for a week and a half. Bad combo, let me tell you. I even went like five days without tweeting. That's saying something.

Anyway, here are some photos from my life in the past few weeks. Nothing big. You know me. Just the day-to-day every day stuff. It's been good, though. Trust me. And the cooking career? I'm learning all sorts of stuff. Usually Chef laughs at me before explaining something, though. More tips later. Probably in like May or something. Just kidding. But really, who knows how often I'll be updating this thing now.

Ps. Christmas away from home is uber depressing. It just doesn't feel like Christmas. And my birthday is in a week, and it hardly feels like it's even December. Right now I just want to spend a week in a cabin and soak up some snow, hot chocolate, and Christmas cheer. Someone please sweep me away to a cabin. PLEASE.

 1. Gorgeous sunset I watched all by myself up at the Y parking lot.
2.. Little redheaded girls! My dad's cousins' kids. I randomly reconnected with the family for the first time in a decade and ended up spending Thanksgiving with them. And low and behold the family is filled with redheads! I'm not alone after all. It's amazing.
3. Adorable beyond all reason. My babies better be half as cute some day.
4. Upon reconnecting with that side of the family, I saw my great Aunt Marie for the first time since dad's funeral. We kind of both started bawling when she walked into the room because she had no idea I was going to be there. (Weird things like not keeping in touch with extended family happens when somebody dies.)
5. Finally made pumpkin pie. Like, in December. This usually happens in September.
6. Sankt Nikolaus sent me a package! Seattle's Chocolates (he knows what I like), The Christmas Carol, socks, and a little note book. Kind of wonderful. (Sankt Nikolaus is a German tradition I grew up with. He comes on December 6th and usually fills your shoes by the front door with treats of various sorts. It's like Christmas, but smaller. Definitely a tradition I plan on continuing.) (Thanks for making me feel loved, mom!)
